My family has been studying and learning about the biblical holidays celebrated by Jews. On of them is Purim. The celebration of Esther saving her people. We made Haman cookies, acted out the play, watched One Night with the King, and listened to the story and played with our groggers. It was so much fun to do this with the girls. If you haven't seen the movie, it's a must see.
Becca and I dressed in purple shirts, black boots, and black skirts for school. I parent partnered on her birthday and when we got to school her teacher matched us. Not planned. We had strawberries with whipcream on top. We had the best home made cake with a little pet shop on top. We checked out Publix toppers and $7 wasn't worth it. It turned out just perfect.
Brian made a rule that the girls couldn't paint their nails until they stopped sucking their thumbs. Much to their mothers dismay, considering it is my passion. Becca officially put the thumb away and the night before her birthday we painted her nails. It was emotional for me.
